School Announcements
Dear Parents/Guardians,

The staff and I hope that our students and their families have had a restful summer holiday. We look forward to a working partnership with our students and parents in delivering Catholic Education at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School.

Our school community wishes Mr. Sharples success in his new position as Principal of St. Mary’s Catholic Elementary School in Lanark County. We are so   thankful to Mr. Sharples for all his efforts in serving our school community these past two years.

We welcome Mrs. McHenry, as new Vice-Principal and wish her success in serving our school community at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High school.

Our Curriculum Night will be Thursday, September 16th beginning at 7:00 p.m. in our atrium. Parents will have the opportunity to meet staff and receive important information on the curriculum that their children will be receiving this school year.

We will be celebrating the 2009-2010 academic achievements of our grade 9’s to 11’s at our Academic Awards evening on Thursday, September 23rd at 7:00 p.m. in our atrium. Refreshments will be provided for this special celebration of student excellence at St. Thomas Aquinas.

The staff at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School is committed to the vision of promoting our Catholic faith and ensuring that educational experiences will be in a safe and positive learning environment. Our staff will work diligently in providing the finest instruction possible and establishing effective communication with our parent community. We also look forward to having our students continue to embrace our Raven athletic and extracurricular programs this school year.

Our Homework Club will continue to run Tuesday and Thursday afternoons to support our students in their academic studies from 2:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in our library. Please remember to sign up for late buses.

Pope Benedict’s intention for the month of September is that in less developed parts of the world the proclamation of the Word of God may renew people’s hearts, encouraging them to work actively toward authentic social progress. We ask for prayers that we play a lead role teaching our students these lessons of our Lord.

                                          Yours in Catholic Education,

Richard James, Principal                                           Eva McHenry, Vice Principal
